I haven’t taken the opportunity, in my lifetime, to speak about my caravanning experiences. Over the years, it’s just been something I’ve done every year without fail – part of my life, I suppose. But it strikes me that there are so few people who use caravanning as a form of holiday and relaxation. And I guess I don’t realise this because the people I come across in the touring caravan sites I use have all been caravanning for years. So I thought I’d write this blog to help people realise what a great form of holiday caravanning is.
I’ve been taking caravan holidays since I was young and for me, it’s become a way of life. Not to say that I live in my caravan – to the contrary, I have a lovely home in Shrewsbury. But for two weeks every year, I take my caravan, just me and the wife now because the kids prefer to go travelling with their friends, and we explore this wonderful British island of ours, stopping at touring caravan sites and meeting like new, interesting people the whole while. It really is a breathtaking experience each time, and I find it sad really that so many of us Brits have no idea how beautiful our island is.
