Wagah borderThis city which is the second largest in Pakistan was once the capital of Mughal Empire and it has the water mark of Mughal architecture.
The historical architectural splendors that needed to be explored in Lahore are the Royal Fort, the Badshahi mosque, the Tombs of Emperor Jehangir, Empress Noor Jehan. The Shalimar Garden is a renowned work of the Mughals. These terraced gardens are at different levels with ponds and vegetation.
The Lahore museum is the house for ancient paintings and art works. 200 km to the south of Lahore is the excavations of Harappa. This archeological site reveals the glory of the township that lived 4,500 years ago.
The Minar-e-Pakistan is a glory tower called the ‘National tower of Pakistan’ and it is an amalgam of Mughal and Contemporary architectural styles.
The Wagah border check post is 30 km from Lahore city and it is the LoC between India and Pakistan. The ceremony called ‘lowering of the flags’ happens every evening at the border.
